Golfing During The Coronavirus Pandemic | Eagle Rock Golf Course
Now that every golf course across Canada has been given permission to reopen for the summer, many new and experienced golfers are clamouring to get on the course to knock off the rust and to enjoy a nice, sunny day.
If this is your first time booking a tee time this year, you may have a few questions about the new protocols that golf courses are implementing to ensure the health and safety of the golfers and the staff. This blog will outline the common rules that golf courses across Canada are implementing, and the ones we are implementing at Eaglerock.
Golfers Must Maintain a distance of at least 2-metres at all times
It is great to get out to the course and meet up with friends and family that you haven’t been able to see over the past few months. Unfortunately, for the time being, you still must do your part to stop the spread of COVID-19 by being physically separated from your playing partners.
This rule also applies to entering the clubhouse. When paying for your round or buying something from the golf shop, we ask that only five people be inside at one time. We also recommend that you pay using a debit or credit card with tap, although we are accepting cash.
If you are using a cart for your round, you can share one only if the other person lives in your household or if you carpooled together. Each cart will be sanitized at the end of the round by one of our staff members.
Make Sure You Book a Tee Time in Advance
One of the biggest changes that golf courses are making is that they are not allowing walk-ons. This is to ensure that we can accommodate each tee time without overpopulating the course. Each tee time is separated in 12 minute intervals, and we ask all golfers to keep up with their pace of play.
What Can Golfers Do To Make The Process Smoother?
In addition to the above points, we are asking golfers to not arrive until 15 minutes before their designated tee time and to not congregate in the parking lot before or after your round. We also ask that you don’t remove the flag poles, we have altered the holes to facilitate ball retrieval without the need to remove the pole or touch the cup.
